I don’t know how available many are outside of Japan, but inside Japan you can certainly get your hands on a few different sets.Īt least one of this series (top left 「一房のぶどう」 is on sale as an ebook app for ipad through White Rabbit here, I know because I read it this week. I needed to read something that wasn’t about some kind of vegetable or charismatic megafauna having an irksome afternoon.Īnd yet I cannot read ‘real’ books yet. They have a deal through their website where you can buy a bundle of 11 readers for 35. The major advantage of these books over the others is that they’re available on kindle. I tried this series and will return to it, but after 20m of reading a 12 page story about motherfucking beans, which I neither fully understood, nor had the slightest interest in, I simply couldn’t stand any more. Finally I’ve found one more producer of Japanese Readers for beginners from the Japan Shop: You can watch this video to get a better idea of what’s in the books. Each level includes an audio CD containing the full-text read by Japanese native speakers. Grammar points and furigana (small kana written beside kanji to show the pronunciation) accompany the text.
